WHEN DOES THE TENANCY START AND FINISH?

The period of the tenancy is 52 (or 53) weeks, from July to July. The exact dates are determined by the academic year which is set by The University of Northampton.

DO I PAY REDUCED RENT FOR THE SUMMER?

Yes. If you're not in residence you will receive a discount for the first 8 weeks. You may leave your belongings in your room at your own risk.

WHAT ABOUT UTILITY BILLS?

Your Gas, Water, Electricity, TV Licence and Broadband will all be arranged for you.

DO I NEED TO BUY ANY APPLIANCES?

Each house has an Oven, Hob, Washer/Dryer, Fridge/Freezers, Dishwasher, Toaster, Kettle and Microwave.

WHAT HAPPENS TO MY DEPOSIT?

Your deposit is fully protected and insured with the Deposit Protection Service, My Deposits.

WHO CAN ACT AS MY GUARANTOR?

Each tenant must be able to provide a suitable guarantor. This person must be a UK homeowner, and will be required to complete a Deed of Guarantee (as sample of this document can be viewed under What Will I Be Required To Sign)

WHEN CAN I MOVE INTO THE PROPERTY?

You can move in at any time after the start of the tenancy. However, most students move in during September and therefore pay a reduced rent for the first eight weeks.

DO I NEED A PARKING PERMIT?

No. Both houses provide street parking without a permit.

WHAT WILL I BE REQUIRED TO SIGN?

You will be required to sign a contract and a guarantor agreement which will be provided for you.
